The "ASEAN Annual conference on applications of IT in industrial property" was successfully organized on October 28th, 2019 in Da Nang by the IP Viet Nam, WIPO and JPO.

The "ASEAN Annual conference on applications of information technology (IT) in industrial property" was successfully held on October 28th, 2019 in Da Nang by the Intellectual Property Office of Viet Nam (IP Viet Nam) and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) with the assistance of the Japanese Patent Office (JPO).
The "ASEAN Annual conference on applications of IT in industrial property" was successfully organized on October 28th, 2019 in Da Nang by the IP Viet Nam, WIPO and JPO.
Among the distinguised guests and ASEAN representatives attended the conference were Mr. Le Ngoc Lam, Deputy Director of IP Viet Nam; Mr. Juneho JANG, WIPO Senior Manager of Asia – Pacific; Mr. Hokuto TATEBA, Division of IT and Patent Information Management of JPO. 
In the opening speech, Mr. Le Ngoc Lam emphasized that the conference which is a WIPO-ASEAN initiative and has been implemented over the years aimed at promoting the utilization of WIPO IT applications in the ASEAN intellectual property offices and creating opportunities for ASEAN delegates to exchange and share knowledge and experiences.
The main contents covered in the conference including: updating IT developments of ASEAN countries; updating the receiving and processing international trademark applications in the WIPO Madrid system; introducing  WIPO data digitization projects; introducing WIPO FILE – online application through the WIPO application system, the ability to integrate the WIPO FILE with the charge and fee system of each country; the WIPO FILE development and upgrading plan.
In particular, the conference also had room for the Modules of IT developed by WIPO, WIPO plan for supporting the development of each ASEAN country, IT system of Japan Patent Office Introduction, and Presentation on the new version of WIPO IPAS 4.0 to be shared and discussed. 
Reports on IT systems in industrial property and ASEAN Patentscope System (APS) of each country were also shared by delegates from ASEAN countries.
With valuable sharing experiences, the conference has created a friendly and open atmosphere to promote and improve the WIPO IT system for ASEAN countries.
