Director General Tran Viet Hung attended the WIPO High-Level Forum

On March 1st to 2nd, 2010, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in cooperation with Japan Patent Office (JPO), organized a “High Level Forum on the Global Intellectual Property Infrastructure for Promotion of Innovation” in Tokyo, Japan.

 

On March 1st to 2nd, 2010, the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in cooperation with Japan Patent Office (JPO), organized a “High Level Forum on the Global Intellectual Property Infrastructure for Promotion of Innovation” in Tokyo, Japan. The objectives of the Forum are to (i) exchange views and information on policy and strategy considerations relating to the current international situation and emerging trends in the field of intellectual property (IP), (ii) identify best practices to utilize IP systems for economic, social and cultural development, and (iii) explore possible areas of cooperation among countries for establishing modern and effective IP systems.

More than 100 participants from 50 countries over the world were invited to participate in the Forum, including Viet Nam. Dr. Francis Gurry, Director General of WIPO, also attended and addressed an opening speech at the Forum.

The Vietnam’s delegation led by NOIP’s Director General Tran Viet Hung  participated in the Forum and made a presentation on the Role of IP Office in promoting innovative activities in Viet Nam. The Forum commented and appreciated the significant progress made by Viet Nam in the development of national IP system, especially the use of intellectual property system as a power tools for economic and innovative development.

On the sideline, the Vietnam’s delegation met with WIPO’s Director General Francis Gurry and Director Generals of Japan Patent Office (JPO), Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) to promote their cooperation.
